Religious drama from acclaimed Spanish director Luis Buñuel. Father Nazario (Francisco Rabal) is a humble priest who tries to live his life by Christ's teachings, but who finds himself despised by the locals for his pains. The only person who shows him any respect is the town prostitute, but gradually Father Nazario comes to realise the impossibility of leading a pure Christian life.
