'Princess From The Moon' is a unique Japanese fantasy uniting actor Toshiro Mifune and director Kon Ichikawa. A poor bamboo cutter and his wife witness a mysterious light in the sky crashing into a nearby forest. Investigating, they discover a small pod lying next to the grave of their young daughter, Kaya. The pod breaks open to reveal a small baby inside, who grows to resemble the bamboo cutters daughter. Adopted by the poor couple "Kaya" soon reaches maturity and becomes the object of desire for every man who sees her...
