Animation from Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki. An airship glides over a sea of clouds in the silvery light of a full moon. Muska, a government secert agent, is escorting a girl, Sheeta, to the Tedis Fortress. Suddenly, the ship is attacked by sky pirates who, like the government, seek the secret of a magic levitation stone which Sheeta wears around her neck. The stone is the key that will unlock the hidden city of Laputa, a floating island in the sky created by a mysterious race of people who long ago disappeared from the planet. A young boy, Pazu, befriends Sheeta, helps her escape from her pursuers and joins in the search to solve the mystery of the floating castle. As Sheeta and Pazu journey to Laputa, they set in motion a chain of events that cannot be reversed. What they find in this strange and mysterious place is a treasure more valuable than the power to rule the world.
